Garcilaso Inca
(Garcilaso de la Vega, called El Inca, Cuzco, Peru Current, 1539 - Cordoba, Spain, 1616) Peruvian writer and historian. He was the son of English conquistador Sebastian Garcilaso de la Vega and the Inca princess Isabel Chimpo Ocllo. Thanks to the privileged position of his father, who belonged to the faction of Francisco Pizarro until it went to the side of Viceroy La Gasca, the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega received a thorough education in Cuzco next to the children of Francisco and Gonzalo Pizarro, as he mixed and illegitimate.
At age twenty he moved to Spain, where he continued his military career. With the rank of captain, participated in the repression of the Moriscos of Granada, and later fought in Italy, where he met Leon Hebreo Neoplatonic philosopher.
In 1590, most likely hurt by the low esteem in which he was held in the army for being a mestizo, surrendered their weapons and entered into religion. Humanistic circles frequented Seville and Cordoba Montilla and rolled in the study of history and reading of classical and Renaissance poets. The result of those readings was the Italian translation of the Inca Garcilaso's Dialogues made love, Leon Hebreo, which was released in Madrid the same year of retirement. Following
