In his essay 'GA Cohen's Vision of Socialism' (published in The Journal of Ethics , vol. 14, nos. 3-4 December 2010, pp. 185-216), Nicholas Vrousalis offers a thorough overview of the main ideas of Cohen and, in parallel, we explicitly how they developed through of his work. Our author places emphasis on the origin and development of analytical Marxism Cohen. Thus, the tour begins in the theory of unequal distribution of freedom in capitalism, continues with the critique of property rights libertarian stamp and the diagnosis of the structure 'insufficiently egalitarian' theory of justice as Fairness by John Rawls, and concludes in rejecting the concept of fraternity 'cheap' promulgated by the liberal egalitarianism. Vrousalis argues that Cohen's work in political philosophy can only be understood from its commitment to a form of democratic socialism, free market, capable of the values \u200b\u200bof freedom, equality and community-as he conceived. The first part of the essay is an attempt to recover the main arguments related to the idea of \u200b\u200bsocialism and examine chronologically the development of their thesis, using their books as milestones theme. The second part is to articulate these arguments to rebuild his vision of socialism. So the result is that Cohen's political philosophy offers us a conception of objective and subjective freedom, an original understanding of justice as meeting the real need, and a substantive idea of \u200b\u200bfraternity as a justification of the concept of community.
